The Tent Dream
|
|
It was about this time that I had a
dream about a camping trip that myself and some of the ministers
took together. We all had camping tents, and when it came time
to make camp, we were in a sandy field. Some of the ministers
commented on how lucky we were to camp here, because the stakes
(to tie the tents down) were so easy to drive into the sand. So
they had their tents up in only a few minutes. As they hurriedly
put up their tents, I noticed a pile of crossties by the
roadside. (Crossties are the heavy timbers used under railroad
tracks). I began to roll those heavy ties over to where I was
erecting my tent, and to tie my tent to the crossties. Some of
the ministers commented to me that it was not necessary to tie
the tent down so firmly, seeing that we would not be there very
long, but I ignored them and continued to tie the tent firmly to
the crossties. Then we all retired for the evening. Now during
the night there came a bad wind storm and my tent was shaking
violently, but it didn’t blow away. The next morning, all the
other tents had blown down and were scattered across the field.
The ministers were no where to be found. Then I awoke from the
dream. This dream taught me that it was important to take enough
time to do what is necessary to be sure that what we are doing
will stand in times of adversity; rather than building something
hurriedly with less structural integrity. When I awoke from the
dream, I was thinking of 1st Corinthians 3:9-15 and Matthew
7:24-29. I began to be very cautious about God’s work; making
sure of what I believed did fit the Word perfectly, and to do
everything to the best of my ability and understanding. I
believe that is one of the reasons this work has stayed strong
throughout some 40 years. It has been getting stronger as the
years pass, and will assist the Bride in getting ready for the
Rapture.
