Connecting the Dots…On
the Coming of the Lord

Let us turn in the Word of God to the book of 1st
Thessalonians, and I would like to begin reading from
chapter 4, verse 13. I want to entitle the message
this morning ‘’Connecting The Dots…On The Coming of
The Lord.” Connecting the Dots…, and I’ll explain why
I’m using this title a little more as we go along, but
let’s pray and ask the Lord’s blessing upon the
reading of the Word and the ministering of the Word.
‘’Heavenly Father we just thank You this morning
for this another privilege that You have granted us
Lord on this first day of a New Year - that we can
come together to worship You in Spirit and in truth,
and to learn about Your
Word; to just be in Your presence Lord. Your
Word says that where as much as two or three are
gathered together in Your name, that You would be in
the midst. You’re in the midst whether there are two,
three or two or three thousand. You walked around on
the sandy shores of Galilee, and wherever You went,
the presence of the Lord was there to heal and deliver
and set free, and God we just pray this morning that
it’ll be repeated and You’ll be in our midst in a
special way, so that the Word of God may have free
course, and that every one here and the hearer’s and
reader’s of this, where ever they may be will be
blessed, we ask it in the name of Jesus Christ,
amen’’.
Again, the title of our message is, “Connecting the
dots... on the coming of the Lord.”
Recently I got a magazine or maybe it was a little
book or something, and it had a picture there on one
page and on the other page it had a lot of dots, but
no picture. I noticed there on it, if you were just a
beginner it had the dots numbered, you could follow
the dots by the number and get the picture whatever it
was of; whether it was a bird or whether it was an
elephant or whether it was a house or whether it was a
person or whatever it might be…, you could create the
drawing of whatever it was in the picture by
connecting the dots. When the dots are connected then
you got a perfect picture, see.
Now the bible says, “Babes desire the sincere milk
of the Word,” and there are always babes coming along
and so on like that, but those that are more mature,
those that are full grown desire the strong meat of
the Word. So if you start connecting dots to draw a
picture, and the dots are numbered, then it’s hard to
miss if you can count, because it is numbered 1. 2.
3. 4., and as long as you know what number follows the
other, then you can draw the picture. But…, then
there are those that are more mature, that can choose
any place to start on the drawing and connect all the
dots without the numbers, and when they get all the
dots connected, they get a perfect picture, because
they have done it many times before.
