The Ministry and Redemption
|
|
Message Transcribed From Audio Tape Number 10
Brother Ben Howard, Dawsonville, Georgia
I want to minister on The Ministry And Redemption,
and what the Ministry has to do with Redemption. We
want to get this just like the Lord wants us to have
it. I believe the Ministry has more to do with
Redemption then what most people see and realize. I
believe after reading this message, you will agree
with me.
Jesus Christ paid our sin debt on Calvary, didn’t
He? The blood of Christ cleanses us, and water
baptism in the Name of Jesus Christ remits the sins
that we did in the flesh. When we walk in the Light
of the Word of God as it is ministered to us, then the
blood of Jesus Christ continually cleanses us from the
errors of our ways. So we see that redemption is in
Christ Jesus. That is for sure, isn’t it? All right,
how do we get it? How are we redeemed? Well the Word
of God says, “Faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by
the Word of God.” (Romans 10:17) It also says, “How
shall they hear without a Preacher? And how shall
they preach, except they be sent?” (Romans 10:14, 15)
Now when you begin to look at the Word of God and
round it out just right, you will see something I
believe on this certain subject. I believe you will
see what the Ministry is for. As for as having any
saving power, or saving you from your sins in paying
the price for your sins, that has already been done at
Calvary. You will see that without the Ministry, the
Church is not going anywhere. Without the Ministry,
the Church is not going to be redeemed. Without the
Ministry, the Church is not going to be perfected.
Thank God, He has set in the Church the Five-Fold
Ministry to do the job, and it is going to get the job
done. You might ask, “How do you know?” My first and
foremost reason why I say that is, “It is based upon
the Word of God.” It’s not what I see, not what I
hear, and not what I think will take place, but what
the Word of God says. This is what I stand on! There
was somebody that said, “Feelings come and feelings
go. Feelings are deceiving. The Word of God is the
only thing worth believing.” That is the truth, isn’t
it? Nothing else, but the Word of God is worth
believing; whether it is the written Word or the
spoken Word. If it is the spoken Word, then it will
certainly line up with the written Word of God. So
seeing that we have come to this place in time, that
we are right here close to the end time, and we know
that it can’t be long. We have come through the Seven
Church Ages and the Seventh Church Age Messenger has
already come and God took him off the scene after his
work was finished. This leaves on the earth a Church
that is not perfected yet. THE PROMISE IS THAT THE
CHURCH WILL BE PERFECTED!
I want to read from the Word of God starting in 2nd
Corinthians 5:14…, “For the love of Christ
constraineth us; because we thus judge, that if one
died for all, then were all dead: And that He died for
all, that they which live should not henceforth live
unto themselves, but unto Him which died for them and
rose again.” I want you to notice verse 15 there very
carefully, especially the part where it says, “That He
died for all, that they which live should not
henceforth live unto themselves.” What does it mean?
It means, “Look not on the temporal things, but on
those things which are eternal.” We labor not for the
temporal things, though we have to have them. We have
to have a place to live, a car to drive and so forth.
Those are temporal things and they will pass away.
Our aim and our goal has got to be on eternal things.
Set your heart not on temporal things, but on eternal
things. If you are redeemed, then your goal in life
will be to serve God. It is not going to be some
other thing. It’s going to be to serve God. Then as
far as other things (your natural walk), you
automatically do those. You go to your job, provide
for your family, and whatever you have to do in this
natural realm. Everything else fades when it comes to
your priorities, it is serving God and putting Him
first. “You live unto Him which died for you and rose
again.”
